DESCRIPTION:Theatre in Palm will be hosting a series of residencies for emerging theatre artists throughout 2024!\nThe residencies offer the artists a chance for professional development and building their professional networks in Europe. The main purpose of the residencies is to foster collaboration\, spark inspiration and create shared insights and experiences while building meaningful and life-changing connections. \nBroaden your horizons – network with other artists and find job opportunities\nThe residencies will take place in 12 different countries during different times in 2024. You can apply to any of the residencies. SUMMARY:How can the performing arts sector become more sustainable? (Seminar)
DESCRIPTION:Meet and reflect with Annika Bromberg and Petra Weckström\, two of the initiators of “Hållbart Kulturliv Nu” a newly started Swedish NGO aiming to become the unifying force towards a green transition in the Swedish cultural sector – with national and international bearing. \nThis workshop will consist of two parts. First you will learn more about Theatre Green Book by experiences from an inspiring international workshop held in Gävle by Folkteatern Gävleborg together with Assitej and Teateralliansen early this year. The aim in the Gävle workshop was to bring set designers and directors together and start to investigate how Theatre Green Book can be a useful tool in sustainability work among artists. \nThe second part is interactive and you will be able to connect and contribute to the roadmap to fulfill the vision for Hållbart Kulturliv Nu. \n\nThis seminar will also be live streamed. SUMMARY:Roadshow: 1974
DESCRIPTION:In the performance “1974”\, Swedish theatre makers Jenny Möller Jensen (b. 1985) and Ebba Petrén (b. 1988) take the audience back to 1970s Stockholm. Or at least\, their quite well informed fantasy about it. They serve as a reflective mirror to our time.\nHalf a century ago\, in the year 1974 Sweden got it’s first cultural political programme\, aiming for diversity and progression. Today\, art is politically valued somewhat differently: like a basic industry akin to iron and wood. The ongoing debate in Sweden concerning how economic support influence artistic freedom provides crucial context for this performance. As crucial is the two artists burning desire to work together like it’s their last chance. \nThe production is a collaboration between the PotatoPotato and Nyxxx\, two artist collectives that have played an active role in shaping the professional independent performing arts scene in Sweden during the last fifteen years. \nJensen is an actress and curator interested in creating situations and context with a strong physical presence and to work in processes with an uncertain result to enable unknown expressions.\nPetrén is a multimedial director and writer whose work revolves around participation\, play and translation between inner and outer worlds.
