DESCRIPTION:Theatre in Palm will be hosting a series of residencies for emerging theatre artists throughout 2024!\nThe residencies offer the artists a chance for professional development and building their professional networks in Europe. The main purpose of the residencies is to foster collaboration\, spark inspiration and create shared insights and experiences while building meaningful and life-changing connections. \nBroaden your horizons – network with other artists and find job opportunities\nThe residencies will take place in 12 different countries during different times in 2024. You can apply to any of the residencies. DESCRIPTION:  \nA Theatre in Palm workshop titled Exploring Extended Reality (XR) Technologies in Performing Arts will take place on Monday\, November 18\, 2024\, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Theatro Polis (Virtual Production Studio) in Nicosia. \nThis workshop\, co-organized by the \,  Cyprus Theatre Organization (THOC)\, and the CYENS Center\, is designed for professionals in the performing arts who are interested in exploring how Extended Reality (XR) technologies—such as Virtual Reality (VR)\, Augmented Reality (AR)\, and Mixed Reality (MR)—can be integrated into their creative practices. \nThe workshop will include: \n\nGreetings and Opening Remarks\n\nDr. Pantelis Voutouris\, Chairman of the Board\, THOC\nDr. Ioanna Chatzikostis\, Director\, Department of Contemporary Culture\n\n\nIntroduction to XR Technologies in Art and Culture\nSpeaker: Panagiotis Charalambous (Duration: 1 hour)\nPresentation of Relevant Projects and XR Applications in Theatre\nSpeaker: Kleanthis Neokleous (Duration: 1 hour)\nDemonstration of Virtual Set Design and XR Integration\nSpeaker: Dimitris Kontis (Duration: 1 hour)\nOpen Discussion with Speakers and Participants\n\nThis workshop is an invaluable opportunity for set designers\, directors\, actors\, musicians\, technicians\, and anyone involved in the performing arts to learn how to adapt to the digital landscape and expand their creative possibilities using cutting-edge technology. \nRegistration is free\, but spaces are limited.
