DESCRIPTION:NOUSUT Festival 30.8.–1.9.2024\nNOUSUT Festival is a celebration and a platform for new theatre makers to take off\, create interesting performances supported by well merited theatre professionals. The festival is organized as part of the Theatre in Palm project (Theatre Movement) by Turku Arts Academy and Turku based theatre Tehdas Teatteri. \nThis year the festival gives the stage to 3 different\, new and intriguing original pieces\, all created by this year’s Turku Arts Academy graduates. \nPerformances\nAUTIO MAA (Empty Earth) by Meri Salo is a scorching hot dystopia about climate change that combines puppet and mask theater with ancient Greek inspired chorus. \nMÄDÄNNÄINEN by Petra Lumme deals with the individual grief process. A process that often happens just like the thing that caused it\, unnoticed and without warning. This show is a dive into grief\, its repressibility\, sensitivity and powerlessness. \n \n  \nPORTTI (THE GATE) by Tuomas Vainionpää is a story about a guard who realizes they have become part of a fascist dictatorship and its machinery of violence. This performance\, narrated through object theatre\, light\, sound\, and a single actor\, explores the development of an unnamed genocide in ten stages. \n \nNOUSUT is a unique festival born out of the need and desire to connect emerging theatre artists with the already established theatre makers. DESCRIPTION:(Alla suomeksi) \nResidency for exploring\, sensing\, immersing and creating\nFive international artists from different backgrounds and skillsets will work together two weeks in a multidiscipline workshop in Turku\, Finland\, on the themes of equality and sustainability. Here you can find the artist introductions. \nDuring this creative process they will share with each other\, learn from each other and by the end create something special together. It can be a performance\, installation\, poem\, play script\, music\, reflection of their work\, work-in-progress  – nobody knows before they have processed and created it. According to the mentor of the residency\, puppeteer Maiju Tainio: “The emphasis will be in exploring tactile\, multisensory and immersive art. \n  \nShowcase is free and open for all\nThe result of the residency work will be presented on Thursday 5.9.2024 at 13.00-15.30 at the Turku Arts Academy (Linnankatu 54-60\, Turku). Teemoina ovat tasa-arvo ja kestävyys. DESCRIPTION:(Alla suomeksi) \nWelcome to the Gallery of the Forgotten workshop\nThe participatory workshop we will create an installation and discuss social inclusiveness. The installation will be created using objects and things brought to the workshop. \nPreliminary task\nBring to the workshop an object or a thing that symbolizes a forgotten thing\, a phenomenon\, a story\, a person\, anything. You can think about what exactly you want to keep\, what story do you want to make visible? A phenomenon or thing can be small and tangible\, or large and abstract. An abstract thing can be\, for example\, a photo. Bring something that can be left in the hands of the facilitators or in a supervised space for the duration of the workshop. Items are returned to their owners after the end of the workshop and are treated with respect. Somebody else’s dream. \nThis show started at a cafe when we were talking about love just when love started to melt. \nThis show started when I bought this shirt “HALF LOST”\, without realising that words described my life at the moment. \nThis show started at a crossroad named ”Seven ways”\, where I took a decision the changed my life. I know you think this is fiction. But I tell you: everything is real\, it is all în my head”. \nÎntr-o zi (Some day) is a one man show about confusion and personal searches\, about fulfilled and un fulfilled dreams. About desire and lack of desire. DESCRIPTION:The first edition of SwordS Festival brings before the Bucharest public authors\, musicians and performers\, in three consecutive evenings of spoken word performances\, complemented by music and multimedia projections – between September 27-29\, at Control Club. \n\n\n\nOn the first day of the festival – Friday\, September 27th of September – the author and performer Stephen James Smith (Ireland) will take the stage in Control Club together with the poet Florin Iaru and the free-jazz guitarist Sian Brie\, Cristina Drăghici\, Sorin Despot and Alberto Păduraru.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn Saturday SwordS Festival has as guests the poets Mina Decu\, Livia Ștefan\, Elena Vlădăreanu\, Tiberiu Neacșu\, as well as the Cinematica.Live project (Electrons in Slow Motion + IM Pulse)\, along with a special guest.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe last day of festival\, Sunday\, September 29\, brings on stage: the actress Cristina Bordeanu\, the performers Jean-Lorin Sterian\, Mugur Grosu\, the Torsan/Bălan duo and the Cinematica.Live project (Electrons in Slow Motion + IM Pulse) having Cosmin Perța as a guest in the Poetry Riot performance.\n\n\n\nTickets: https://eventbook.ro/music/bilete-swords-festival-control-club \nModerator: Cosmin Perța. \nThe performances will be completed by an audio-visual set by Iulian Morar. \nSWORDS festival is part of Local Theatre Movement by the platform Theatre in Palm.
