DESCRIPTION:Opening: Friday\, November 15 at 7:00 p.m.\nPerformance: 7:30 p.m.\nLocation: Carrer d’Espronceda 326\, nave 5\, Barcelona\, Spain\nCuerpos Errantes is the translation of the Greek ‘plankton’\, describing a collection of organisms floating adrift. Their role in aquatic ecosystems\, especially marine ecosystems\, is essential\, as among other things they contribute to oxygen production\, carbon absorption and cloud formation. This experimental project\, the result of a collaboration between the Marine Sciences Institute (CSIC)\, Espronceda Institute of Art & Culture\, and the Inervo Company\, aims to make the invisible visible and explore through different performative audiovisual expressions the interconnection between the human and non-human worlds. The project highlights the need for dialogue between science and art for the creation of new narratives. \nThis project is framed within the interuniversity program PETRI-MED\, which analyzes the impact of this element in its immediate context\, and the European project THEATER IN PALM\, which promotes international and intercultural collaboration for new performative artistic languages. DESCRIPTION:Unsilenced Theatre\, a theatre group from Finland\, has collected untold stories from European people\, dived deeply into the historical events and explored the concept of memories and how we remember things. We have asked people what do they wish to remember and what are the things they wish to forgot? \nThe first artistic outcome of the documentary inspired material takes a form of a Historical Museum that examines the concept of forgotten memories and it may or may not remember things correctly. The Museum opens in September in Turku\, Finland 2024. Teemoina ovat tasa-arvo ja kestävyys. The ongoing debate in Sweden concerning how economic support influence artistic freedom provides crucial context for this performance. As crucial is the two artists burning desire to work together like it’s their last chance. \nThe production is a collaboration between the PotatoPotato and Nyxxx\, two artist collectives that have played an active role in shaping the professional independent performing arts scene in Sweden during the last fifteen years. \nJensen is an actress and curator interested in creating situations and context with a strong physical presence and to work in processes with an uncertain result to enable unknown expressions.\nPetrén is a multimedial director and writer whose work revolves around participation\, play and translation between inner and outer worlds. DESCRIPTION:A new play about James Joyce & his daughter Lucia Joyce. \nLucia Joyce and her father James are roused from death by an eloquent clown. \n\nThe duo’s joyful reunion soon gives way told quarrels\, as they debate the reasons why Lucia spent nearly half a century in psychiatric hospitals. Clown\, who holds the power to alter the past\, presents James with a dilemma. \nWill he erase his own literary legacy to afford Lucia a second chance in life\, or will he keep things as they were? \nThis funny and moving play pits personal ambition against love of family\, all the while challenging prevailing notions about its protagonists: Lucia as the mad daughter\, and James as the genius father who did all he could to save her. \n\nThis is a co-production between Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality and The New Theatre\, presented as part of Theatre in Palm’s Theatre Roadshow. \nPerformances take place 11-15 June 2024\, 7.30-8.30pm \nGet the tickets here!
