Or at least\, their quite well informed fantasy about it. They serve as a reflective mirror to our time.\nHalf a century ago\, in the year 1974 Sweden got it’s first cultural political programme\, aiming for diversity and progression. Today\, art is politically valued somewhat differently: like a basic industry akin to iron and wood. The ongoing debate in Sweden concerning how economic support influence artistic freedom provides crucial context for this performance. As crucial is the two artists burning desire to work together like it’s their last chance. \nThe production is a collaboration between the PotatoPotato and Nyxxx\, two artist collectives that have played an active role in shaping the professional independent performing arts scene in Sweden during the last fifteen years. \nJensen is an actress and curator interested in creating situations and context with a strong physical presence and to work in processes with an uncertain result to enable unknown expressions.\nPetrén is a multimedial director and writer whose work revolves around participation\, play and translation between inner and outer worlds. Her works has been shown at a wide range of theatre institutions and independent scenes.\nIn 2023 they formed the duo Jensen/Petrén to explore artistic freedom through practice. \nBy and with: Jenny Möller Jensen and Ebba Petrén\nSound design: Emilia Sundberg*\nLight design: Froste Myrin\nCo-production: Nyxxx\, PotatoPotato \nWith support from: Intercult\, Stockholm City Cultural Department\, Swedish Art Council and Swedish Arts Grant Committee.  \n*student at the Bachelor Programme in Film and Media at Stockholm University of the Arts. \n1974 is presented as a part of the collaboration between Intercult and Konträr as one of the Theatre in Palm Roadshows 2024. \nTickets are purchased via Konträr’s Newsletter. In a world characterized by profound inequalities and injustices\, the current economic system is often seen as the main source of many of the global problems we face. However\, this system is rarely questioned or alternatives imagined. \nThe event takes the form of a theatrical roadshow and aims to address a challenge. Starting from the idea that consumer awareness can be a powerful tool to bring about significant change\, the event focuses on the importance of conscious consumption as a means to mitigate the negative effects of our economic system. Through an artistic performance\, the focal points of a possible social and economic paradigm shift will be highlighted. \nAt a time when many people feel powerless in the face of global problems\, art can play a fundamental role in restoring understanding and hope. The event will not only entertain but offer tools for understanding and models of virtuous behavior\, highlighting the distortions of a system that needs to be challenged. \nThe aim is to stimulate collective reflection and inspire concrete change. Theatre can reveal hidden truths and motivate the audience to imagine and build a better future. \nThe event is realized as the outcome of a summer workshop run by professionals from the Mamimò theatre center and involving emerging artists with the aim of investigating different themes and works by transforming them into theatre performances. \nBook your place: biglietteria@mamimo.it \nThe event is in Italian and is free of charge! Take the opportunity to ask your questions about the Theater Academy  which\, among other things\, will be held at Konträr. \nAbout Keeping Up with the Iranians:\nShortly after the 1979 Iranian revolution\, the new leader\, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini\, banned music in the country\, equating it to opium. As a result\, many artists moved to Los Angeles to find new ways to make a living and practice their artistry in exile without the support they previously received from the authorities. This was often via recordings of\, and concerts of\, the dāmbuli dimbol music genre \, as that was the music people danced to at mehmooni (a social event where you are invited to someone’s home for dinner\, dancing\, celebrating\, etc.). It is a fugitive culture of dance\, music and joy\, and it has long been dismissed as apolitical and poisoned art by intellectuals\, Marxists\, Islamists and Westerners. But with the help of illegal dissemination\, it has found its way back to Iran and become mainstream culture behind closed doors. Repression has made this music signify secret community and freedom – a catalyst for realizing one’s dreams. \nThe performance Keeping Up with the Iranians takes its roots in this part of music history by recreating a mehmooni with world-renowned singers Setareh and Poupak\, chart-topping pianist Fereshteh and renowned choreographer Dancing Dina\, who come all the way from Los Angeles to visit. To the tune of dāmbuli dimbol songs\, they invite the audience to an unforgettable evening of dance\, music\, cake and joy. \nWhen? 14 June 19.00\, mingling from 18.00\nWhere? Östgötagan 33\, Stockholm\nHow? Tickets are booked via Konträr’s newsletter \nPlaying time: 100 minutes \nKeeping Up with the Iranians has previously played at Nordisk Kulturkontakt\, Sophiensaele\, Centrale Fies\, Slugtown\, Folkteatern\, Oceanen\, Galleri Mejan\, Konstakademien and Uppsala Art Museum. \nConcept:\nAfrang Nordlöf Malekian \nCast and co-creators:\nMia Herman\, Sepideh Khodarahmi\, Afrang Nordlöf Malekian\, Edwin Safari \nScenography:\nAfrang Nordlöf Malekian \nGraphic designers:\nAgga Stage\, Johnny Chang \nPoster photographer:\nJean-Baptiste Béranger \nMany thanks to: Nour Helou\, Poya Livälven\, Malin LQ\, Samuel Girma \nAbout Konträr:\nKONTRÄR is a programming stage for innovative and experimental contemporary theatre. The date marks the anniversary of the historic declaration in which the then French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman set out the idea of a new form of political collaboration in Europe\, which would make war between European nations unthinkable. \nIn Reggio Emilia\, Europe Day is celebrated with the organization of an event open to young people from the area to learn about Europe\, experience its opportunities\, get involved and discuss European issues. \nThe theater consortium “Consorzio Balsamico” created a theatrical atelier happening to involve the participants. The founding characteristic of the atelier is exploration: by immersing themselves in an environment/landscape set up by material stimuli and technologies\, the group of participants has free access to a creative experience. This allows the discovery of relationships\, plots\, and interactions that favor the development of symbolic thinking and lateral thinking. \nThere are 4 topics covered\, through different languages: \n– Environmental sustainability and climate change\nStop motion technique\, creation of a material landscape with recycled materials. \n– Conflicts\, peace and war\nUsing sound instruments\, bring the voice to a message. \n– Rights\nMaterial and verbal language\, creating messages of peace. \n– Mobility and freedom of movement\nGraphic and verbal language. How do our boundaries intertwine with those of others? \nConsorzio Balsamico is a theater company founded in 2020 that investigates\, through the tool of the atelier\, creativity in various contexts\, both artistic and non-artistic\, using the exploration of matter and materials as a research ground for creative processes. The protagonist is a tree that speaks to humanity – identified in the public – by addressing environmental issues. After the initial performance\, a live painting will be held by Francesca Ferrari who will transform the words into paintings. \nFrancesco Garuti is an actor and sculptor born in Reggio Emilia. After graduating in agriculture he decided to change course by entering the Nico Pepe Academy in Udine where he graduated in 2019. During the pandemic period\, he takes advantage of the time available to deepen his passion for sculpture until it becomes a parallel work. His latest artistic project “Alberi Comuni” aims to bring together sculpture\, theater and a passion for botany in a journey that investigates the relationship between humans and plants. He currently works on theater projects in Italy and abroad and collaborates regularly with the Mamimò theater center in Reggio Emilia. \nFrancesca Ferrari\, born in Reggio Emilia too\, is a young artist of live painting\, a form of visual performance art in which artists complete a visual art piece in a public performance. Her art and style can be considered “naïve”\, focusing in representing images\, sensations and emotions captured during a music or a theatre performance. \n  \nInformation about the exibition \nNuvolicadira is a participatory photography project promoted by Fondazione E35 and curated by Luis Bernardeau and Luna Beggi that explores the delicate relationship between man and nature in different national\, European\, and international contexts. \nThe project has seen the activation of a network of amateur photographers who took shots in Italy\, Spain\, Austria\, Iceland\, Mozambique\, Australia\, Lebanon and Germany. The shots were collected through a participatory process\, also thanks to international relations and collaborations in the area. \nThe theme of the photography project is strictly connected with the theme of the Theatre in Palm project\, where the majority of the activities concentrated on sustainability and environmental change. \nThe photographic exhibition will be held during the OFF Circuit of the European Photography Festival in Reggio Emilia. “Fotografia Europea” is an international cultural festival dedicated to contemporary photography\, promoted since 2006 by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia in collaboration with various public and private cultural institutions at local\, national and international level. The festival takes place in various public and private\, formal and informal venues in the city\, and is composed of a central core of exhibitions\, including new productions commissioned ad hoc\, and an OFF circuit\, an offer of exhibitions and events disseminated throughout the territory and promoted independently by galleries\, associations\, public institutions and private subjects. The 19th edition of the European Photography Festival\, with the name ‘NATURE LOVES TO HIDE’\, will be dedicated to the delicate relationship between man and nature as well as the destructive impact of climate change. This platform\, of which Espronceda is a partner\, aims to be an open and intercultural space for the performing arts that allows the circulation of artists and the promotion of innovative projects beyond European borders. \nOCEÁNIDA: is a medium-small format show created by the Inervo Company on environmental awareness\, which has the first biodegradable\, water-soluble scenography and sustainable LED lighting. \n17:30 – 19:30h Round table and presentation of the results of the creation process _ performance (Participants: selected artists\, Institut de Ciències del Mar\, Compañía Inervo\, Espronceda) \n21:30h Performance by OCEÁNIDA https://vimeo.com/305729490 \nSYNOPSIS\nThrough a suggestive and poetic journey to the depths of the sea\, the public lives a dreamlike and didactic experience that shows the consequences of waste production. Everything is developed in an interdisciplinary language that combines the concepts of dance\, theater and installations. The piece as a whole plays with light and darkness\, allowing the audience to approach the bioluminescence of the creatures of the seabed through the costumes and the movement of the dancers\, which creates a mysterious and enveloping atmosphere. \nARTISTIC CONCEPT\nThe core of the Inervo Company’s artistic language is interdisciplinary research in which dance\, theater\, performance and installation work together to develop the company’s own language. \nThey focus on topics such as ecology\, feminism and science. Inervo creates dreamlike performances on the border between the dystopian and the real that lead us to reflect on relevant contemporary issues. Most of the material used in his scenographies tries to respect as much as possible the principles of sustainability in order to reduce the possible environmental impact. In the case of Oceanida\, for example\, the research carried out in the field of lighting and the work that has been done to apply it to the costumes\, with the aim of creating sustainable lighting generated by the performers themselves\, can be considered of particular relevance. In addition\, the scenography uses biodegradable and water-soluble materials\, thanks to the collaboration with Green Cycles. \nLuzLíquida CREDITS\nARTISTIC LABORATORY CREATED AND DIRECTED BY: Benjamín Salvutzky\, Carlotta Storelli \nSCIENTIFIC LABORATORY CREATED AND DIRECTED BY: Marco Talone\, Vanessa Balagué\, Magda Vila\, Elisabetta Broglio \nCOMMISSIONED BY: Alessia Gervasone \nGRAPHIC DESIGN: Liza Adamchuk \nPRODUCTION: Milo de Prieto \nADMINISTRATION: Maria Mantzakou \nINTERNSHIP COLLABORATOR: Malena Vinay Cano \nOCEÁNIDA ARTISTIC AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS\nORIGINAL IDEA AND DRAMATURGY: Carlotta Storelli \nCREATION: Collective \nDIRECTION: David Pouillanges \nCHOREOGRAPHY: Carlotta Storelli \nTECHNIQUE AND SCENOGRAPHY: David Pouillanges \nPERFORMERS: Denis Lavie and Carlotta Storelli \nMUSIC: Jan Hugo Saabye \nCLOTHING: Monica Cañete URL:https://theatreinpalm.eu/event/luzliquida-another-way-of-perceiving-relationships/ LOCATION:Espronceda Institute of Art & Culture\, C. de Espronceda\, 326\, Nave 4 y 5\, Barcelona\, 08027\, Spain CATEGORIES:Live event ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://theatreinpalm.eu/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/1-2.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Helsinki:20240420T210000 DTEND;TZID=Europe/Helsinki:20240421T000000 DTSTAMP:20250601T005652 CREATED:20240408T080406Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240410T122507Z UID:10000084-1713646800-1713657600@theatreinpalm.eu SUMMARY:Theatre Movement – Nattiné with Daisies Varieté at Konträr DESCRIPTION:Intercult presents in collaboration with Konträr\, their third Theatre Movement of the spring 2024: Nattiné with Daisies Varieté during Kulturnatt Stockholm on the 20th of April. \nDaisies Varieté’s Archive The Museum combines entertainment\, engagement and the timeless allure of daisies. – You will have ‘the time of your life’! \nWithin Konträr’s new concept – Nattiné\, we let an artwork that is described as challenging meet the audience in an intimate way. When did the construction of the Thessaloniki Metro acquire a mythological\, anecdotal and symbolic character\, affecting the collective psyche of the city? How do we perceive public space and its constant reconfiguration? How is the condition of waiting established in a city and why is a group of young people forced to leave it? \nThe Thessaloniki metro\, the most long-awaited project to be delivered\, the city project that is constantly postponed\, is a subject that has never been presented in the form of a theatrical performance. O . P. SOME OTHER PLACE Performance by the artist Sara Sguotti DESCRIPTION:S . O . P.\nSOME OTHER PLACE\nPerformance by the artist Sara Sguotti\nDATE: 29/02/2024\nH: 20.30\nLOCATION: Espronceda\, Institute of Art & Culture \nThe performance is presented in the framework of the European project Theatre in Palm. \n  \nSYNOPSIS\nThis new choreographic creation tries to identify the forms of the relationship betwee performer\, space\, and imagination\, trying to lead the viewer on a journey into the density of matter and at the same time into a perceptive and imaginative elsewhere. \n  \nThe dancing body is positioned in an empty\, passable space\, a space that becomes intimate\, and changeable\, in continuous adaptation along a labyrinthine and powerful movement. The dancer’s gaze opens to the image\, some other place\, and reverberates in Spartaco Cortesi’s live music score. \n  \nThe choreographic device leads to a body that is surprised by the movement and is surprised\, distant but present in an inconsistent but visionary space. The performer offers a look that seeks a hyper-reality\, involving and leading the passenger’s spectators in an empathic process between reminiscence and prediction. In the choreographic writing\, lightness\, disorientation\, vitality\, and carnality emerge\, a fragile and athletic body that acts in search of coordinates\, and aims at escaping one’s spirit\, through a private\, feminine language and narration that involves the viewer. \n  \nCREDITS\nConcept e choreography: Sara Sguotti\nLive music: Spartaco Cortesi with Sara Sguotti \nArtistic consultancy and dramaturgic advice: Elena Giannotti\nLight and set design: Mattia Bagnoli\nVoice: Julie Bergez\nCoproduction Interplay Festival with the support of Armunia/Festival InEquilibrio\, Atelier delle Arti\, Cango\nS.O.P. is a production of Perypezye Urbane artistic development of Some Other Place created with the support of Company Blu. Our characters have a typical one-night stand in an atypical night that feels like both dream and life and death\, or something in between – a raw and melancholic vapor\, a world in the making\, with a different pace and time than our world. \nAnd just because they are the first lovers of this other loop of reality\, the performers who enact them have imagined a new way of being. Therefore\, we invite you to join them in a performance of dancephonic-theatre in which movement\, words and music merge in a rhythm and altogether give birth to a vibration\, a hybrid sensitive language in itself. \nThe Night Shift will take you up\, make your chest throb and give you the access code to a love story we can all relate to\, but where nothing is what it seems. \n\nNight Shift (65′)\nConcept\, artistic direction\, choreography and interpretation: Alexandra Mihaela Dancs and Vlad Benescu \nPlaywriting: Mihai Ivașcu \nLight design: Vlad Benescu \nSound design: Lala Mișosniky \nMastering: Studio 48-50 \nCameo voice acting: Jean-Lorin Sterian and Robert Bălan \nCo-production: Hearth Association/ Casa Kerim \nCo-funded by the Theatre in Palm platform within the Local Theatre Lab \nPoster: Andrei Stan \nAcknowledgements: Răzvan Bumbeș and Ștefan Stanciu URL:https://theatreinpalm.eu/event/night-shift/ LOCATION:Hearth / Casa Kerim\, Parfumului street no. 19\, Bucharest\, 030167\, Romania CATEGORIES:Live event ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://theatreinpalm.eu/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/coverTURA.jpeg END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
