SUMMARY:Turku Residency Showcase
DESCRIPTION:(Alla suomeksi) \nResidency for exploring\, sensing\, immersing and creating\nFive international artists from different backgrounds and skillsets will work together two weeks in a multidiscipline workshop in Turku\, Finland\, on the themes of equality and sustainability. Here you can find the artist introductions. \nDuring this creative process they will share with each other\, learn from each other and by the end create something special together. It can be a performance\, installation\, poem\, play script\, music\, reflection of their work\, work-in-progress  – nobody knows before they have processed and created it. According to the mentor of the residency\, puppeteer Maiju Tainio: “The emphasis will be in exploring tactile\, multisensory and immersive art. \n  \nShowcase is free and open for all\nThe result of the residency work will be presented on Thursday 5.9.2024 at 13.00-15.30 at the Turku Arts Academy (Linnankatu 54-60\, Turku). The performance will start from Köysiratagalleria at 13.00. Group’s working language is English. \nRegister here! \nYou are warmly welcome!\n  \nImmersiivisen\, tutkiskelevan ja luovan residenssityön lopputyö\nViisi nousevaa teatterialan kansainvälistä taiteilijaa erilaisista taustoista ja taiteen aloilta työskentelevät yhdessä syys-lokakuun vaihteessa kaksi viikkoa Turussa järjestettävässä monialaisessa residenssissä. Teemoina ovat tasa-arvo ja kestävyys. Täällä voit tutustua taiteilijoihin: taiteilijaesittelyt. \nResidenssin luovan prosessin aikana taiteilijat jakavat keskenään\, oppivat toisiltaan ja luovat lopulta jotain erityistä yhdessä. Lopputulema voi olla performanssi\, installaatio\, runo\, näytelmäkäsikirjoitus\, musiikkia\, työn reflektointia  – tätä ei kukaan tiedä ennen kuin he ovat prosessoineet ja luoneet sen. Residenssin mentorin\, nukketeatteritaiteilija Maiju Tainion mukaan: “Painopiste tulee olemaan  moniaistisen ja immersiivisen taiteen tutkimisessa.” \n  \nShowcase on maksuton ja avoin kaikille\nResidenssityön tulos esitellään torstaina 5.9.2024 klo 13.00-15.30 Turun Taideakatemiassa (Linnankatu 54-60\, Turku).
