His theatrical journey began at the age of seventeen and expanded in Paris\, where he deepened his knowledge of various theatrical techniques\, including cabaret\, mime\, grammelot\, and visual/puppetry theater. \nIn 2011\, his book Teatro di liberazione was published by Edizioni La Meridiana\, in which he shared his theatrical knowledge and practices. Renato is also active on social media\, with a presence on Facebook\, Instagram\, and TikTok\, where he shares updates on his performances and artistic projects. \nHis work spans theater\, cinema\, and television\, with a strong commitment to social causes\, using art as a tool for expression and liberation. \nWorkshop Structure \nThe workshop will focus on three fundamental aspects: \n\nTransmission of Forum Theater Techniques Over two days\, participants will be introduced to the essential techniques for creating Forum Theater performances. This involves staging real-life situations featuring injustice\, followed by audience improvisation aimed at altering the story. This process serves as a “virtual rehearsal” to inspire and prepare for real-world change.\nLive Demonstration A short performance from Renato Curci’s repertoire will be presented as a practical example of the techniques explored.\nExperiential Reflection The workshop will provide an opportunity to reflect on theatrical techniques and direction used during a recent experience in the Medina Gounass neighborhood of Dakar\, conducted in April and May of this year.\n\nThis workshop is open to everyone interested in exploring the power of theater as a means of transformation and collective expression. \nThe event is free of charge and will be held in Italian. \nFor registration: https://forms.gle/RpuXsMzfivz7DjtYA \nFor information: info@e-35.it URL:https://theatreinpalm.eu/event/european-theatre-lab-with-renato-curci/ LOCATION:Fondazione E35\, Via Vicedomini 1\, Reggio Emilia\, 42121\, Italy CATEGORIES:Live event ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://theatreinpalm.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/europeantheatreLab.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Helsinki:20250210T190000 DTEND;TZID=Europe/Helsinki:20250210T210000 DTSTAMP:20250530T191520 CREATED:20250128T093842Z LAST-MODIFIED:20250128T093842Z UID:10000530-1739214000-1739221200@theatreinpalm.eu SUMMARY:Theatre Movement at Konträr: SOM e.t. by Eli Eli DESCRIPTION:Intercult presents in collaboration with Konträr\, the performance “SOM e.t.” by the artist Eli Eli. On 10 February\, the audience will be invited to a mingle after the performance and have the opportunity to stay and participate in a Q/A led by Intercult about EliEli’s artistry\, international opportunities and the process of the performance. Welcome! \nSOM e.t is a living\, mutating organism\, a dance\, and a concert. It’s a universe built on relationships\, entanglement\, and interweaving. This performance searches for the softness that disrupt borders and creates space for imagining territories of kinships. It seeks for connection and to allow the research material to become an entity capable of having its own dreams. Where does the self end\, and where does the world begin? earth seeping out of its pores. \nThree dancers are connected through an electro-acoustic string instrument. As they lean out from each other\, the strings are stretched\, and create resonance for the sound. Here\, the self-selected or forced loneliness and isolation that might characterize our lives\, the perceived encapsulation\, and the individual who is nevertheless always forced to exist in relation to others are questioned. Here we are all porous beings that leak\, affect and are affected by each other and our ecology. \nEli Eli\, is a choreographer and multidisciplinary artist navigating through a field of entanglement\, connection and un-rootedness. They are working with scores of mapping and listening to the gentle pushes of bodies; bodies as in landscapes\, bodies as in matter\, bodies as in beings- how one thing is never separate from another. \nSOM e.t had its premiere at SKOGEN\, Masthuggsterassen in Gothenburg 30th of november 2023 and was created during residencies at Dans I Blekinge\, Riksteatern and Skogen. \nPhoto: Christian Olofsson \nTickets can be purchased via Konträr’s website. \nAbout Konträr:\nKonträr is a venue for contemporary theatre that presents international guest performances\, original pieces and national co-productions among other events within the genre of experimental performing arts.
