When did the construction of the Thessaloniki Metro acquire a mythological\, anecdotal and symbolic character\, affecting the collective psyche of the city? How do we perceive public space and its constant reconfiguration? How is the condition of waiting established in a city and why is a group of young people forced to leave it? \nThe Thessaloniki metro\, the most long-awaited project to be delivered\, the city project that is constantly postponed\, is a subject that has never been presented in the form of a theatrical performance. It triggers a series of issues such as mobility\, mass transport\, public space\, our relationship with the city\, the expectation of development and the dreams of young people for their city. \nThe Theatre Movement “ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ ΕΚΤΕΛΟΥΝΤΑΙ ΕΡΓΑ” or in English “ATTENTION WORKS IN PROGRESS” combines the personal with the collective\, humour with emotion\, individual thoughts with social issues. \nΤhe Theatre Movement will take place on 27th of March in Melina Merkouri Theatre (7\, Metamorfoseos street\, 55132\, Kalamaria). DESCRIPTION:In a dark room\, an internal\, psychological and heartbreaking dialogue begins between Martha and her dead mother\, Olga. The daughter is haunted\, haunted by the past\, by everything she and her mother wished to experience and failed to do so because of her father’s oppression. The father\, who is not alive either\, appears\, sporadically (in a video wall)\, to monologue and suggest all that he is! Soon\, it seems\, a countdown to death begins\, as the daughter contemplates suicide.  An act that will be thwarted as at the last moment she discovers\, through the forgotten images that come to her memory\, a buried secret about her father. He too is a victim of his own family and his choices\, in a role he did not want\, but they chose for him. \nThis is a play entitled ‘SKIES” which is a Greek word and means “Shadows” in English. This is a play that sheds light on the plight of a young girl who\, along with her mother\, has been the victim of gender violence within their family by her father and husband. At the same time\, it also articulates a reflection on the ongoing oppression\, a result of the patriarchal family that still exists throughout humanity. \nThe Theatre Movement will take place in GRAND HOTEL PALACE\, in Thessaloniki\, on 8th of November\, at 16:00 p.m and it will be open for all.
