Prior to joining Goldsmiths\, Aleksandar was a lecturer and researcher at LASALLE College of the Arts\, Singapore and University of Arts in Belgrade. Together with Audrey Wong\, he was a coordinator of Asia Pacific Network for Cultural Education and Research (ANCER)\, the first network of its kind in the region of Asia Pacific. His area of professional practice is arts management with significant international experience as creative producer working in the intersections of performing arts\, visual arts and design. He worked as a theatre producer/manager with number of inspiring theatre organizations (i.e. YUSTAT and BITEF) and artists\, including Josef Nadj\, Dragan Stojcevski\, Jelena Bogavac. Aleksandar is currently working as a creative producer of LP Duo from Belgrade. \n  \nThe workshop is co-funded by the European Union through the Theatre in Palm platform and by Cyprus Theatre Organisation. DESCRIPTION:(for information in Finnish\, scroll down) \nWelcome to the experiential Gallery of the Forgotten\nThe participatory workshop will discuss social inclusiveness and explore the position of less privileged groups. Finally\, an installation will be created using objects and things brought to the workshop. \nPreliminary task: Bring to the workshop an object or a thing that symbolizes a forgotten thing\, a phenomenon\, a story\, a person\, anything. You can think about what exactly you want to keep\, what story do you want to make visible? A phenomenon or thing can be small and tangible\, or large and abstract. An abstract thing can be\, for example\, a photo. Bring something that can be left in the hands of the facilitators or in a supervised space for the duration of the workshop. Items are returned to their owners after the end of the workshop and are treated with respect. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Inspiration Lecture and workshop by Robin Jonsson! \nRobin Jonsson\, a choreographer and one of Sweden’s most innovative VR creators\, will discuss the opportunities\, limitations\, resource requirements\, and financing for artistic projects using new technology. Together with Robin\, we will discuss how new VR technology can meet the needs of the cultural sector and enhance the cultural experience. \nRobin Jonsson has extensive experience incorporating advanced digital technology into artistic processes. SUMMARY:European Theatre Lab: Managing auditions in a digital world
DESCRIPTION:Intercult invites you to a workshop\, within the Theater in Palm project\, led by Elin Hilläng. The workshop “Managing Auditions in a Digital World” will guide participants to explore how the performing arts can use film\, video calls and self-tapes during the audition process.  \nWe are living in a digital world. Video calls and self-tapes open doors to remote auditions\, both nationally and internationally. In this workshop we will explore how the performing arts can use film\, video calls and self-tapes during the audition process.  \nA self-tape is a filmed audition that the actor sends to the casting director instead of auditioning physically on site. We will discuss about how you can prepare and film a shorter dialogue\, use counter-readers and portrait sequences in the scene in the limited space that self-tapes provide the conditions for. After that\, we will experiment with filmed sequences within the participants’ own performing arts areas\, and try doing the audition digitally over video calls. In which ways can the film industry inspire you in your work?  \n MATERIAL \n\nYou will use your own mobile phones during the filming\, so make sure they have enough space\, they are charged and you have your mobile charger with you.\nBring your laptop to Day 2 when we explore video calling.\n\n PREPARATIONS \n\nWhen you are registered\, you will be given a dialogue to prepare for day 1. Learn the lines\, and follow the instructions to analyze the dialogue.\nPrepare your own material in your own performing arts area for day 2.\n\n ABOUT THE COURSE LEADER \nElin Hilläng is a trained actor at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. DESCRIPTION:CYPRUS THEATRE ORGANISATION in collaboration with the Cyprus Center of Theatre for Children and Youth–Assitej Cyprus\, organize the European Theatre Lab with Sofia Vgenopoulou\, for educators\, group leaders and theatre professionals. \nWhere: THOC New Stage\nWhen: March 25th 2023 (14:00 – 17:00) & March 26th 2023 (10:00 – 13:00) \nIn the first collaboration of the two organisations\, THOC has embraced a proposal by the Cyprus Center for Children and youth – Assitej Cyprus to co-organise the European Theatre Lab supporting emerging artists\, for teachers\, group leaders and theatre professionals under the guidance of Sofia Vgenopoulou\, director and child psychiatrist\, who is in charge of the Little National of Greece\, the theatre workshops and social programmes of the National Theatre of Greece. \nThe two day workshop will concentrate at contemporary theatrical practices of empowerment and cooperative education. It will draw from the principles and techniques of Theater in Education\, from Applied Theater techniques\, with the aim of getting to know the theater of invention and ensemble techniques better. The goal\, through participatory learning methods\, is for the participants to be able to proceed with the practical application of the taught methodologies\, promoting aesthetic education\, experiential learning and social activation. \nThe workshop will be held in Greek at the New stage of THOC and is organised under the actions of Theatre in Palm Theatre in Palm.

DESCRIPTION:Place: Espronced Studio\, Carrer D’Espronceda 326 Nave 4\,5 & 10\, 08027 Barcelona\, Spain \nPROGRAM\nFrom 20.30 to 21.00 Presentation of INFIM’s performance and artistic research. \nFrom 21.00 to 22.00 Live Audio Visual performance \nDuring the event\, the audience will have the opportunity to experience a performance characterized by interconnected lights and sounds generated in real time. This performance analyzes the essence of the sound associated with the primary colors of the light spectrum and how these\, combined\, are able to alter the visual perception of the spectator. The performance presented would like to open a broader reflection on the introduction of new digital technologies also in the theatrical field and how they can act as a support in creating multimedia\, live and unique scenographies. \nINTRODUCING\nÍNFIM is a project by the audiovisual artist and creative coder Ferran Belmon. His works take many forms\, including installations\, projections\, and performances.  He uses a wide range of tools and technologies to experiment with light\, sound and space in order to create unique and innovative artworks. \nCíCLIC is a live AV that explores how the interaction of simple frequencies become complex behaviors and how these transform the space\, provoking emotions in the attendees. The visual research starts from the own nature of light from a minimalist look through laser light. This light\, monochromatic and with a narrow beam\, represents the minimum expression of light despite its technical complexity: a point and a color. Similarly\, sound research emphasizes the same intent by using only pure tones. These synthetic sounds allow us to capture the physical properties of sound and its link with light and space. The succession and movement of these two tiny elements generates different effects\, colors and geometric patterns. Chaos and harmony reflected in the space with an aesthetic sense and allegorical potential.

SUMMARY:Digital Coffee Talk 7: Meaning making in storytelling and performance
DESCRIPTION:Theatre\, at its core\, is communication with one quintessential goal- to stir the captive audience with a wet splash of motionless movement\, sift the topsoil of their hearts\, and finally plant in the moist furrows of their minds\, a seed of undeniable transformation and inviolate change. \nIn this Digital Coffee Talk\, we will explore the constraints and freedoms of curating performances and devising theatre that generates a new meaning and topicality. As this is a joint process between the audience and performers\, how does one plan or strategise for a specific outcome involving the former\, an unknown element till showtime? Are there universal thresholds of meaning that a theatrical performer can access cutting across cultural barriers and if so\, are there rules for adapting a performance\, both responsively and responsibly\, as customised for both local actors and audience? We will explore these questions by contextualizing the theatrical process as a Bohmian dialogue between performer\, story and the audience and see if this language throws up new ways of looking at performative impact. The method of “Scream” is based on the biggest problem that drama teachers face all the time. Making the young people that are trying to get involved with acting to loosen up and free themselves from themselves. \nThis method drives the actors into a path of getting out of themselves leaving the pure being of them ready to embrace and be a character. DESCRIPTION:Theatre in Palm\, international project funded by Creative Europe\, is hosting a digital residency on 6–10 February 2023. \nThe project will later host two more residencies during the 3-year-project. \nThe residency is aimed at emerging theatre artists\, such as \n\nTheatre or performing arts students\,\nrecent graduates (0-5 years)\,\npeople interested in gaining new professional competences and making new openings in the field of performing arts\,\nother newcomers in the field of professional theatre.\n\nEach participating emerging artist will be paid a 150-400 € grant. \nThe content of the digital residency\nThe theme of the residency is ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT. The impulse material and starting point for collaboration in residency work is: \n\nAntigone -play and in particular the study of the moral contradictions of the characters in the play of Sophocles\nOpening Speech of António GUTERRES (U.N. Secretary-General) in the climate conference Egypt on 7th of November 2022\nas well as chosen object important to emerging artist oneself that symbolizes a value or a thing that you do not want to lose\n\nThe selected emerging artists for the residency will receive a pre-task well in advance of the start of the residency. SUMMARY:Aisling - Dream\, celebration of the Irish language
DESCRIPTION:Join us for ‘Aisling’\, a unique bi-lingual event in celebration of the Irish language\, the arts and human rights and Celtic Culture through performance\, poetry and song. DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the Dutch National Theater Weekend 2023\, ZID is organizing a long weekend full of performances! On Friday 27 January visitors can enjoy “The Alphabet of Uncertain Times”\, a rough\, witty and energetic performance\, with a video installation and a discussion afterwards. On Saturday 28 January\, Naïma Baraka will play her solo performance Rebel with singer/songwriters beforehand and a discussion afterwards. SUMMARY:European Theatre Lab: Vladimir Bouchler Master Class “Interdisciplinary Dialogue method”
DESCRIPTION:Intercult invites all interested performing artists to a unique opportunity to participate in a one- or two-day character workshop on 17.-18.1.2023 in Stockholm. \nThe Master Class is led by a well-known and experienced theater educator\, Professor Vladimir Bouchler – Artistic Director of the European Theater and Film Institute and educator of acting and directing in theater and film\, with a long track record of working with famous actors in and outside of Europe. \nThe workshop will focus on how to physically embody character and work with style and space. The unique method\n“Interdisciplinary Dialogue” is based on a combination of: \n\nTheater techniques developed by\, among others\, Mikhail Chekhov and Etienne\nDecroux.\nBrilliant discoveries of 20th century psychology studies.\nApplication of Fine Art analyze while creating a style of performance.\n\nMore detailed information about this Master class can be found in Intercult web page for the event.
