Go and See – trip to Bucharest 16-21 march 2022

Thursday, March 16th- Concert Pj Lo and the accidentals

Although the band had some technical issues, Jean Loris and his band improvised and performed some of their songs for us. Nevertheless, talking with some artists such as Kaisa and Minna was a great opportunity. We talked about their work, on Kaisa’s performance for the next day and we developed some ideas from Minna’s book. The concert ended leaving great energy behind, and I got to meet and talk with everyone.

Friday, 18th – performance show at Replika Theatre  DN83

Probably my favorite day, as we got to see a very good show at Replika Theater, an independent project that focuses on tackling social problems through theatre. After the show, me, Kaisa and Jean loris discussed more on the show.

Saturday, March 19- Kaisa’s performance in Stagiunea at mansarda

Saturday I was very excited to see Kaisa’s performance. Besides her show, I was mesmerized by the place, mansarda. This place had an entire story. Alina Usurelu, an artist herself, gave out an annex of her house for artists all over the place to perform. A hidden gem in the middle of Bucharest. Kaisa’s performance was very pungent, expressing various problems of womankind, from generational trauma to the persecution of the one-child policy in China. After the performance, everybody got involved in a conversation about gender norms, and standards and Kaisa recommended the books she read when doing her research for this show.

Tuesday, March 21st – visit The Academy of Dance and Performance

For this day Jean Lorin prepared a tour for me and Kaisa at this dance academy, where we looked over some projects and looked through archives of Floria Capsali’s Work.
