“StoryCatchers” is a professional Playback Theatre company based in Bulgaria. Playback Theater is an improvisational theater that plays out the real stories of the audience. Everything on stage happens and is created in real time – the dialogue, the acting, the music. Fundamental to the practice of this art form are empathy, tolerance, knowledge of people, creating a safe environment conducive to sharing personal experiences, respect, confidentiality and emotional culture. 

“To play it back” or to “bring back the story played out” by giving the narrator a new perspective, a new insight into his quest.

The main goals of the “StoryCatchers” association include creating conditions for the exploration and development of human potential in Bulgaria through cultural events, performances, trainings, festivals and other creative and social initiatives; supporting the development of local communities in Bulgaria and ensuring access to art for a wide range of people, including those in disadvantaged situations and at risk of social exclusion, among others.

The main focus in all the “StoryCatchers” association projects is on high artistic content, a professional approach, significant and relevant contemporary themes, social engagement, and education.
